Samson Septic & Excavating LLC combines decades of experience in septic system installations, inspections, repairs, upgrades and maintenance, with decades of experience in the construction industry, specializing in all aspects of excavation, from building roads to digging foundations.
We’re a Phillipsburg, New Jersey-based company with the equipment and expertise to meet all of your sewer, septic system and earth-moving needs.
Although we specialize in septic system installations and related services, we also offer a complete range of excavating services, from land clearing, site preparation and drainage to roads, parking lots, foundations, trucking, and countless other projects that involve moving earth.
In the course of expanding his commercial construction business, owner and managing member Robert Samson saw septic system installation as the next logical step. Today Samson Septic & Excavating is serving New Jersey and northeastern Pennsylvania customers within approximately a 75-mile radius from the company’s home office in Phillipsburg, N.J.
Customers appreciate our responsiveness, straight-shooting with estimates, respect for their property, and the outstanding quality of our work – as well as the value we can sometimes add by fixing little things – like a grading problem – while we have our equipment onsite.

Phillipsburg native Robert Samson is the owner and managing member of Samson Septic & Excavating LLC. He has worked in construction for more than 30 years – initially as a bricklayer, then in house-moving, and finally with his own business in residential and commercial construction and excavating.
Bob’s experience ranges from estimating jobs and doing site work (excavating – sidewalks, curbing, drainage, roads, parking lots, etc.) to constructing commercial buildings. Bob is certified in wastewater management in Pennsylvania.
In addition to our team of technicians and equipment operators, Samson Septic & Excavating also occasionally employs trusted local subcontractors, all well-known to us, as laborers, truck drivers and equipment operators. In addition, we hire local college students during our busiest summer months.
